I direct and shoot commercial and brand films. Before I was behind a camera, I played wide receiver at the pro level — where preparation was the difference between a catch and a drop.
That same discipline is how I run a set: nothing left to chance, every problem solved before it reaches the frame.
I don’t show up to shoot. I show up having already solved it.
Most production problems are decided long before call time — in the plan, the scout, the shot list, the contingencies. I treat preparation as the creative act. By the time we roll, the hard thinking is done, and the day is free to chase the moments you can’t plan for.
That’s what “Solutionist” means. Not a job title — a way of working that lets a brand trust the day will hold, whatever the light, the location, or the budget decides to do.
